EPL: Alan Shearer Criticizes Højlund as ‘Damaged Player’

Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer has shared his thoughts on Manchester United striker Rasmus Højlund.

Shearer argued that the 22-year-old forward is a “damaged player” and is not yet prepared to lead the Red Devils’ attack.

This assessment follows Manchester United’s 1-0 defeat to Wolves in the Premier League over the weekend.

“I’m looking at a damaged player in Højlund,” Shearer said on Match of the Day 2.

“He’s not ready, and I don’t think he’s ready to lead the line at a club like Manchester United.”

Shearer pointed out Højlund’s current lack of impact, stating, “Three Premier League goals, and right now, I’m seeing a player who doesn’t seem to want to get involved.”

Since his move from Serie A’s Atalanta to Manchester United, Højlund has struggled to make a significant impact at Old Trafford.

The Denmark international has netted three goals in the Premier League and five in the Europa League this season.
