Davido to Feature on King Charles III’s Commonwealth Music playlist

Nigerian singer David Adeleke, better known as Davido, has been chosen among the guest artists on British monarch King Charles III’s music playlist.

The king released his eclectic music preferences in a new Apple Music series called The King’s Music Room, which was recorded in his Buckingham Palace office.

The playlist includes disco, reggae, and Afrobeats acts from throughout the Commonwealth, such as Bob Marley, Kylie Minogue, Grace Jones, Davido, and Raye.

The show will be aired next Monday to celebrate Commonwealth Day.

The King, who is Head of the Commonwealth, described the playlist as his soundtrack to life.

“Throughout my life, music has meant a great deal to me. I know that is also the case for so many others,” Charles III said.

He continued, “So this is what I particularly wanted to share – songs which have brought me joy.

“This was such a fascinating and modern way to commemorate this year’s Commonwealth Day.”
