Specifically, the Eselu of Iselu Kingdom in the Yewa North Local Government Area of Ogun State, Oba Akintunde Akinyemi, charged the President Bola Tinubu-led Federal Government to take steps toward cushioning the economic hardship in the country by opening all the borders for the importation of goods into the country.
Oba Akinyemi charged the newly inaugurated executive members of the Integrity Obas Forum to take action against the increasing hunger and poverty in the land.
Sesi Whingah, a member representing Badagry Constituency in the House of Representatives, had earlier assured his constituents in August that the borders of Nigeria will soon be opened for economic activities under the regime of President Bola Tinubu.
News Agency of Nigeria reported that Whingah gave the assurance during the Badagry Stakeholders and Youth Engagement programme organized by his office.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the Ogun monarch urged the government to consider the re-establishment of the marketing board and introduction of price control mechanisms to check the incessant hike in food prices.
